Peter C. Wagner
Peter Wagner is the founder of Global Harvest Ministries and (co) founder of various organizations that target church growth and missionary objectives and the new apostolic and prophetic ministry.
For years he has served together with his wife as a missionary in Bolivia among others. He is creator of the term "third wave". After the first wave of the rise of Pentecostalism, the second wave is the charismatic movement in the mid-60s than there is now the third wave. The new apostolic reformation. Today there are thousands of churches that are connected to his ideas.
Since 1982 he carries with John Wimber of the Vineyard Christian Fellowship, a new doctrine. A doctrine of the Holy Spirit, signs, wonders and church growth. Wagner is best known for his commitment to spiritual warfare, spiritual mapping, and the role of apostles and prophets in the church today. He has also written several books that often focus on the apostolic ministry and spiritual warfare.
Peter Wagner is also involved in the ministry of Todd Bentley and Lakeland. According to him what went wrong with the ministry of Todd Bentley was a shortage of authentic apostolic leadership from Tod Bentley's side. Together with Rick Joyner he talked with Bentley and believes that he has recovered. He has on one of the Lakeland meetings Todd Bentley confirmed as evangelist. Together with other "prophets" of his movement.
Peter Wagner has good goals, such as evangelism in the Muslim areas in the "10-40 window", these are the countries between 10 E and 40 E latitude which are mainly countries with Muslims, Buddhists and Hindus.
Yet he speaks very debatable. I'm talking about the apostolic ministry and the Kindom Now movement. He will learn the spiritual warfare. One of his "generals" is Ana Mendez. According to the Kingdom Now teachings as Christians we need to fight the forces of darkness. This through prayer walking , fighting in a particular area. So for example in Moscow to pray against the forces of communism. This is something the Bible teaches us nowhere.
The Bible calls us to stand (Ephesians 6). Nowhere are we called to struggle against a demonic powers. This is what the Bible writes about:
9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. 10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves. Jude 9-10
We are those who, according to Peter Wagner, the return of Jesus should allow by fighting against the darkness. With new revelations of apostles and prophets it will be possible.
For example, Peter Wagner went with a team to Turkey to bring down the strongholds of Satan, especially Islam. They have climbed high mountains and Satan's forces in the air punished. Then they have Turkey declared free and said that it would be a base for the proclamation of the gospel. Today we see that Turkey increasingly radicalized (Islam).
This fight is not what the Bible teaches. We do not have to struggle so that Jesus can come back. He comes back when he made a place for us.
2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. John14: 2-3
So even though Peter Wagner is doing a lot of evangelizing in Muslim countries, the doctrine he proclaims is the Kingdom Now heresy. He stands on top of an organization with many false prophets.
